Red Light Praises Reinstated!

For those of you who don't know what "Red Light Praises" are please click here.

We have been here a almost two years and it seems like life it just getting busier and busier. When we first moved we had a lot more down time (which I miss) and I wasn't in such a hurry. Life didn't seem to just be whirling by. To some extent I like to be busy and be doing stuff but there are days when it is too much. This is why I decided to bring back Red Light Praises.

Last time we did these consistently we didn't even have Cody. Now, when we do them he adds such a fun dynamic. Here is what we do: When we stop at a red light, instead of grumbling like I started getting in the habit of doing A LOT, we think of things to Praise God for. There is an endless amount to Praise Him for and to Thank him for. The only rule is that when we Praise him we are praising HIM for WHO he is, not what he has done. When we thank HIM we count our blessings and talk about things he has done FOR us or TO us. It has been amazing in changing my perspective. It truly does take the focus on "waiting," or the hurrying around and puts the focus back where it should be - on Jesus.

Cody can't wait for Red lights and he always announces, "Let's do Red Light Praises!" He even thinks we should do green light praises and orange (yellow) light praises!

Even if you are driving alone this an work. You can simply change your thoughts from grumbling, tense or stressful to focusing on the glory of God and how blessed we truly are.

Give it a try sometime!

Psalm 150:6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!

~Blessings~
